Antes de mais nada, a equipe principal do Goiás volta na próxima semana para dar continuidade à pré-temporada. Já o sub-20 estreia na Copinha 2023 na terça-feira (3), às 15h15, diante do Grêmio Pague Menos, do Ceará. Enquanto o time profissional do Esmeraldino se reforça para 2023, o sub-20 teve uma baixa às vésperas do primeiro jogo.
A saber, Juan Tavares, que disputaria a Copinha pelo Goiás, deixou o clube. A informação foi dada pelo jornalista Victor Pimenta, do Mais Goiás. Em resumo, em 2022, o lateral-esquerdo de 20 anos teve poucas chances no time principal e, com isso, retornou ao sub-20 do Verdão.

Dessa forma, em 2022, no time principal, fez seis partidas, entre Brasileirão, Copa do Brasil e Copa Verde, sendo titular em quatro. Já pelo sub-20, participou de 18 jogos e marcou três gols. Por fim, em uma rede social, Eduardo Pinheiro, diretor das categorias de base do Goiás, explicou a saída de Juan:
“ Juan é um excelente profissional, tanto dentro de campo quanto fora. Desejo toda a sorte do mundo para ele. Infelizmente, ele não seria utilizado na equipe principal e estava desmotivado para jogar a Copinha. Tirando o Alan, o Juan seria o único atleta em seu último ano de sub-20 no Goiás”, justificou Eduardo Pinheiro.
Com isso, depois de seis anos, o lateral deixa o Esmeraldino. A princípio, não se sabe sobre negociações nem sobre o futuro de Juan Tavares após sua saída do Goiás. Como citado pelo diretor esmeraldino, seria o último ano do atleta no sub-20.
