Novidade para a torcida goiana! Na última quarta-feira (24), a equipe das Feras do Esporte noticiou sobre a não participarão dos times goianos nesta edição da Copa Verde. No entanto, na manhã desta sexta-feira (26), Vila Nova e Goiás analisaram melhor a proposta e, com isso, decidiram que irão disputar o torneio.
Inicialmente, o Tigre contará com a equipe sub-23, de aspirantes, para a disputa. O Esmeraldino, por sua vez, terá à disposição o time sub-20 e também atletas que não estão tendo uma sequência de jogos no Brasileirão.
Forma de disputa da Copa Verde
A princípio, o torneio deve começar no dia 25 de outubro e tem data prevista para ser encerrado em 15 de novembro. A partir disso, a Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) convidou 24 clubes do Norte, Centro-Oeste e Espírito Santo para a disputa. Entretanto, até o momento, algumas equipes já desistiram de participar, tais como o Remo, atual campeão, e o Manaus.
Todas as fases do torneio, exceto a final, será em confronto único. Com isso, somente a final terá jogos de ida e volta. A saber, o time que vencer a Copa Verde garante uma vaga para a 3ª fase da Copa do Brasil de 2023. Por fim, a CBF garantiu que não haverá substituição de times em caso de desistência quanto a participação ou não do torneio.
Outros times goianos não participarão
Atlético-GO, Aparecidense e Grêmio Anápolis não demonstraram interesse em disputar o torneio.
