Vila Nova desiste da Copa Verde e vai focar na Série B
O elenco colorado passará por mudanças
Após a derrota para o Paysandu, por 6 x 0, o Vila Nova vai passar por uma reconstrução e direcionar todos os esforços para o Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. A informação foi confirmada pelo Presidente colorado, Hugo Jorge Bravo, na coletiva de apresentação de Luizinho Lopes.
Sendo assim, o clube passará por algumas mudanças. A 1ª foi a mudança no comando técnico: Márcio Fernandes foi desligado e Luizinho Lopes contratado como novo treinador do Tigrão. Além disso, o repórter Paulo Massad, da equipe das Feras do Esporte, da BandNews Goiânia, trouxe a informação que alguns jogadores devem deixar o clube colorado, o que foi confirmado pelo presidente na coletiva.
Por fim, Hugo Jorge Bravo não acredita em uma virada no jogo de volta da Copa Verde. Portanto, a partida contra o Paysandu vai acontecer no Estádio Olímpico, e o Vila Nova vai entrar para o confronto com a equipe de aspirantes. O duelo acontece na próxima quarta-feira (29), às 20h.

Após o final da partida, na Cuzuru, o presidente afirmou que este placar de 6 x 0 foi “um dos piores resultados da história do clube. […] O que faz um time tomar de seis, na final, é falta de vergonha na cara […] e respeito a instituição”.
Por fim, Hugo Jorge Bravo finalizou: “Nos temos que ser realistas. Por mais que milagres aconteçam, a situação é praticamente impossível. E acho que nem o torcedor vai abraçar uma equipe que proporciona uma vergonha dessa. Nós somos muito fortes dentro de casa, mas o que aconteceu foi vergonhoso”.
