Parabéns, Verdão! Goiás Esporte Clube completo 80 anos de glória; relembre momentos marcantes
Primeira partida do clube foi com uniformes doados pelo América-MG e, hoje, o Esmeraldino é uma das principais equipes do Brasil
6 de abril de 1943. Desde então, nunca mais o futebol goiano foi o mesmo. Naquele dia, na calçada da Rua 23, no Centro de Goiânia, os irmãos Lino e Carlos Barsi com alguns amigos decidiram realizar um sonho: fundar um clube. Assim nasceu o Goiás Esporte Clube, que completa 80 anos de glória.
A saber, a primeira partida da história do Goiás foi contra o Atlético-GO no Estádio Olímpico. Na época, ainda sem recursos financeiros, o Esmeraldino não teve condições de adquirir uniformes. Com isso, usou camisas com listras horizontais em verde e branco doadas pelo América-MG.
Conquistas marcadas na histórias
Em 1966, o Goiás conquistou pela primeira vez o Campeonato Goiano. Além disso, terminou o torneio com somente um derrota (para o Anápolis, na estreia). De lá para cá, o Verdão já conquistou outros 27 títulos estaduais. Assim, é a equipe que mais levantou o trofeu do Goianão.

Em 1973, o clube se tornou o primeiro do Estado a disputar o Campeonato Brasileiro, criado dois anos antes. O Goiás estreou diante do Olaria, em 24 de agosto de 1973, com um empate em 0 x 0, no Estádio Olímpico, em Goiânia. Posteriormente, veio a primeira vitória do Verdão no torneio. No dia 29 de agosto, o time venceu o Flamengo por 1 x 0, com gol do atacante Lincoln.
Bicampeão da Série B do Campeonato Brasileiro, o Verdão venceu a competição em 1999 e em 2012. Na primeira conquista, o Goiás contava com Fernandão e Dill, que se tornaram ídolos do clube. Harlei, Araújo, Josué e Sílvio Criciúma também faziam parte do plantel.
Já em 2012, Walter, Ricardo Goulart e Ernando estavam no elenco. A saber, o Esmeraldino é até hoje o único time goiano que participou da Libertadores (2006) e que chegou a uma final de Sul-Americana (2010).

Hailé Pinheiro: o maior símbolo da história do Goiás
Inegavelmente, Hailé Pinheiro foi o maior símbolo do Goiás Esporte Clube. Não à toa, estádio do clube leva o nome do dirigente que chegou ao Esmeraldino em meados de 1963, aos 26 anos. No dia 25 de julho daquele mesmo ano, tornou-se presidente do Verdão. Com isso, Sr. Hailé completou 59 anos de Goiás em 2022.
No entanto, no dia 7 de setembro de 2022, o maior símbolo do futebol goiano faleceu aos 86 anos. Sr. Hailé era irmão do memorável Edmo Pinheiro de Abreu, um dos 33 fundadores do Goiás Esporte Clube. A família Pinheiro mostrava que tinha futebol no sangue. Em Itaberaí, cidade natal dos irmãos, foi onde surgiu a paixão pelo esporte.
