Antes da partida contra o Guarani, Dado Cavalcanti e Bruno Collaço conversaram com a imprensa na tarde desta quarta-feira (1). Primeiramente, o treinador projetou o duelo contra o Bugre e falou sobre o momento das equipes na Série B:
“Eu entendo que emocionalmente a nossa equipe já é muito bem preparada. A gente tem jogadores bem rodados, com bastante experiência que já vivenciaram N situações em clubes diferentes. Porém, juntos nós aqui como Vila Nova internamente estamos subindo degraus a cada dia, a cada encontro, treinamento e a cada vídeo corretivo. Eu visualizo que tem uma confiança muito grande aqui dentro, então nós vamos chegar para esse confronto muito bem preparados emocionalmente e estamos muito bem preparados.
Sobre o nosso adversário, vamos enfrentar uma equipe com treinador também tá colocando em prática suas ideias, mas não vamos fugir muito do que a gente vem apresentando nos últimos jogos. Contudo, devemos ser efetivos na criação, fazer a bola andar de fazer e alternar para fazer a bola média, bola longa para chegar no gol adversário. Então tenho uma expectativa muito grande, que a gente possa repetir a atuação, mas com efetividade, com gols. E quem sabe, com a vitória que vai nos dar uma condição melhor da competição”.

Em seguida, Bruno Collaço comentou sobre os últimos jogos do Vila Nova e projetou o jogo contra o Bugre. Ainda assim, o lateral destacou a evolução do coletivo do Tigre:
“Bom, a gente vem trabalhando muito forte desde a chegada do professor Dado. Acredito que a gente vem conseguindo aos poucos ter um bom número de posse de bola, que nos dá mais chances de conseguir criar situações de gol. Ao meu ver, a gente vem conseguindo chegar ao gol adversário e criar mais situações de proximidade. Não conseguimos efetivar em gols, mas tenho certeza que nos próximos jogos as coisas vão começar acontecer. Então, a gente vem confiante depois de um jogo contra o Grêmio, fizemos um jogo consistente”.

By fancy I don’t mean a DVD case and a slip of paper. I mean a proper PC gaming box, like we used to get, in the good old days.
