Neste sábado (12), pela 23ª rodada do Brasileirão Série B, o Vila Nova enfrentou o Mirassol, no Estádio Onésio Brasileiro Alvarenga. A partida terminou com vitória do Tigrão por 2 x 0, com gols de Rafael Donato e Lourenço. Portanto, com a vitória, o time colorado retorna ao G4 e passa a ocupar a 4ª colocação. 1º tempo
O Tigrão pressionou a equipe do Mirassol no inicio do jogo e conseguiu abrir o placar. No entanto, ao longo do tempo o Leão passou a dominar a posse de bola, mas não conseguiu ser efetivo nas finalizações.
Aos 2′ de jogo, Marcelinho cruzou para área e Igor Henrique tentou um cabeceio, mas a tentativa não foi efetiva; aos 5′ o Vila Nova tentou novamente, com um cruzamento de Lourenço e um chute de Henrique Almeida, mas o goleiro salvou. Já aos 7′, no segundo escanteio seguido, Rafael Donato subiu mais alto e cabeceou para o gol do Mirassol, sem dar chance para o goleiro Alex Muralha. Vila Nova 1 x 0 Mirassol.
Aos 22′, o Mirassol teve uma chance de bola parada por causa de uma falta, mas na hora da cobrança, Lucas Ramon cabeceou para fora; uma outra chance do Leão no 1° tempo foi com Julimar que estava de frente ao gol e tentou cabecear para a rede. A jogada aconteceu aos 24′, mas a bola foi pra fora. Aos 33′ o Vila Nova teve uma chance de bola parada, Lourenço cobrou, a bola desviou no meio do caminho, mas o goleiro Alex Muralha pegou.
Já nos 38′, Rafael Donato cobrou outra falta, esta mais afastada da grande área. No entanto, a bola subiu demais e passou por cima do trave. Aos 40′, Gelado chegou pelo lado esquerdo, ficando cara a cara com o goleiro, que defendeu o chute. Para fechar a primeira etapa do jogo, aos 41′, o goleiro Dênis Júnior chutou a bola para o campo de ataque do Tigre. Guilherme Parede recebeu e cruzou para a grande área, encontrando Lourenço que não perdeu a oportunidade de ampliar para o time da casa. Antes do árbitro apitar o final do tempo, Chico Kim ainda recebeu e tentou um lance de fora da área para o time do Mirassol, mas errou.
2º tempo
O Mirassol voltou do intervalo muito mais agressivo e conseguindo chegar ao gol colorado algumas vezes. A 1° grande tentativa foi aos 2′ de jogo. Na ocasião, Yuri Lima tentou chutar da entrada da grande área, mas a bola subiu por cima do gol. Já aos 6′, Julimar arriscou novamente, mas a bola passou do lado do gol.
Aos 26′, Ralf sofreu uma falta e Guilherme Parede cobrou, tentou encontrar alguém na grande área, mas a bola foi tirada pela defesa do Mirassol. O Leão teve a chance de diminuir a diferença em cobrança de falta aos 31′, mas a bola explodiu na barreira e voltou para o campo de defesa. Aos 44′, Gabriel recebeu um lançamento na grande área do Vila Nova, mas não conseguiu alcançar a bola. No geral, o time de São Paulo dominou a posse de bola, mas não conseguiu finalizar contra a defesa do da equipe goiana.
