Pela 1ª rodada do Grupo 13 da Copinha 2023, na tarde desta terça-feira (3), o Goiás enfrentou o Grêmio Pague Menos, do Ceará. No Estádio Prof. Dario Rodrigues Leite, em Guaratinguetá (SP), o time goiano venceu por 1 x 0 com belo gol de falta de Pedrinho, aos 33’ do 1º tempo. O Esmeraldino volta a campo nesta sexta-feira (6), quando enfrenta o Gama (DF), às 15h15.

Em resumo, tanto o Goiás quanto o Grêmio Pague Menos tiveram boas chances no 1º tempo. Pelo lado esmeraldino, aos 11’, Wendell fez boa jogada, mas, na hora do chute, bateu fraco. Aos 17’, novamente com o camisa 11, o Verdão chegou com perigo, porém o goleiro do time cearense salvou.
Por fim, aos 33’, em belíssima cobrança de falta de longe, Pedrinho abriu o placar para o Goiás. Já pelo lado cearense, outras boas chances. Aos 12’, o goleiro Catula fez grande defesa em tentativa de Renê. Posteriormente, novamente o camisa 1 do Verdão fez milagre.

Assim, salvou investida de Breno e, em seguida, salvou também no rebote. Aos 35’, o Grêmio quase empatou a partida. Entretanto, após cabeceio de Breno, Catula defendeu. Com isso, a primeira etapa terminou em 1 x 0 para os goianos em jogo quente.
O 2º tempo, por outro lado, foi morno. Logo aos 5’, o goleiro esmeraldino salvou após chute de longe. A etapa ficou bastante faltosa e, dessa forma, o árbitro não economizou na hora do cartão amarelo. Por fim, sem mais emoção, vitória dos goianos.
No outro jogo do Grupo 13, o Atlético Guaratinguetá, dono da casa, superou o Gama por 2 x 1 e, com isso, divide a liderança do grupo com o Goiás. Os dois gols da equipe paulista foram marcados por Vinícius, enquanto Samuel fez o único gol do time do Distrito Federal.
