Posteriormente, o goleiro do Dragão ainda fez duas boas defesas, evitando a vitória dos cariocas. Por fim, já nos acréscimos do 2º tempo, o Atlético-GO conseguiu a virada. Com isso, depois de contra-ataque, Índio bateu na saída do arqueiro do Voltaço e fechou o placar.
