Um dos primeiros reforços confirmados pelo Goiás para a temporada de 2025 foi oficialmente apresentado. Aos 37 anos, o goiano Juninho chega ao Esmeraldino sob muita expectativa para atuar pela primeira vez por um time da capital.
Em entrevista coletiva concedida nesta quinta-feira (2), o volante falou sobre a experiência e revelou um sonho antigo de jogar no Estádio Serra Dourada. Esperando por essa oportunidade, ele falou sobre vestir a camisa alviverde e comentou sobre os cuidados tomados por conta da idade. Ademais, Juninho levantou a questão da liderança no elenco e garantiu que está pronto para somar com o clube.

Legado e nova história
“ Estou muito feliz por aquilo que eu conquistei no América, mas foi, aconteceu, vai ficar no meu coração e vou levar para minha vida toda. Agora, eu tenho que construir algo aqui no Goiás também para que eu deixe um legado e fique marcado também. […] Tudo aquilo que eu sabia do Goiás só pela minha cabeça e de alguém falar, estou confirmando por estar aqui sobre estrutura e os profissionais que estão aqui. […] Quando a gente vê realmente a estrutura, sabe o tamanho da responsabilidade que está sendo colocada em nós.
Então, eu chego no Goiás, que é uma equipe grande do futebol brasileiro. É importante que o grupo todo frise isso e reforce isso porque a partir do momento em que entendemos que o lugar que estamos é grande, a responsabilidade aumenta e começamos a trabalhar mais. A primeira pressão tem que existir dentro de nós e eu chego para somar e ajudar. Temos vários líderes aqui e eu espero, juntamente com eles, somar um grupo de líderes para ser uma base para que todos que tiverem oportunidade, entrem e atuem bem. “
Pensar em aposentadoria?
“ Eu não costumo colocar tempo porque quando soltamos algo com a nossa boca, costuma acontecer. Se eu disser que daqui a tantos anos eu vou parar. Por isso, eu não coloco um ponto final e nem quando eu vou parar. Eu quero desfrutar do tempo e de tudo aquilo que eu tenho para viver no dia-a-dia.
Eu tenho 37 anos e sei do desafio que é para mim chegar em um clube grande e das cobranças que vão ter, mas sou um cara em que os números falam também. Além disso, eu sou um cara que me cuido muito, me controlo e descanso […]. Eu espero, se Deus quiser, não ter nenhum tipo de problema físico assim como aconteceu em outras equipes.
Eu nunca tive um problema muito sério, sempre fui muito participativo dos jogos e acho que isso até ajudou na contratação porque ninguém contrata um atleta de 37 anos se ele não estiver performando em alto nível. Assim, eu chego com bons números de participações e boa minutagem e espero continuar me cuidando e trabalhando para que eu não venha sofrer fisicamente e ajudar o Goiás o máximo que puder. “
