Aos 87 anos, morre João Carneiro: ‘maior dirigente da história do Vila Nova’
Ex-dirigente comandou o Colorado por cerca de 50 anos!
Nesta sexta-feira (30), morreu o ex-presidente do Vila Nova, considerado o maior dirigente do clube. A saber, João Carneiro estava internado desde a última semana e lidava há anos com sequelas de um AVC.
Assim, nas redes sociais, Hugo Jorge Bravo, atual presidente do Colorado, confirmou o falecimento.
Com muita tristeza, informamos o passamento do maior dirigente da história do @VilaNovaFC, Sr. João Carneiro. Que o Senhor de todos os exércitos o receba de braços abertos!

Destaque na história do Vila e no comando do Tigre por cerca de 50 anos, o ex-presidente era amigo de Hailé Pinheiro, também ex-dirigente do Goiás. A saber, tendo em vista sua importância no futebol goiano, o rival publicou uma nota pela morte de João Carneiro.
“O Goiás Esporte Clube lamenta profundamente o falecimento de João Batista Carneiro, ex-presidente do Vila Nova Futebol Clube, que aconteceu na noite desta sexta-feira, 30 de dezembro de 2022. Considerado um dos maiores dirigentes do Vila Nova, João Carneiro tinha 87 anos, e rivalizou com o amigo Hailé Pinheiro, eterno presidente do Goiás Esporte Clube, grandes batalhas que movimentaram os bastidores do futebol goiano nas décadas de 1970, 1980 e 1990.”
História do dirigente no Vila Nova
Natural de Morrinhos, João Carneiro esteve à frente do clube em importantes conquistas, como nos títulos goianos de 1978 e 1979. Além disso, integrou o acesso à Série B em 2007.
“O maior presidente da história do Vila se chama João Carneiro. Esse sim foi o maior da história do clube, e a gente está só buscando fazer nosso mandato da melhor forma possível.”, disse o atual presidente do clube na última sexta-feira (30) em entrevista exclusiva às Feras do Esporte.
